The Balloon
Lily lost her balloon from Trader Joe’s yesterday and I heard Isaiah tell her in the car, “It’s okay Lily, when Bubba grows up he’s going to be an astronaut. When I go to the moon, I’ll look for your balloon.”

So, we decided to staycation this month… what with the price of gas, the economy, the swine flu… lol… you can pretty much blame everything on those three things! Anyway, we decided to try out our beautiful resort at the Wyndham Oceanside Pier and it was great!
We went fishing…
Isaiah caught his very first fish!
It’s HUUUUGE! I think it was the spiderman fishing pole that brought him luck!
We walk the pier all the time since we live so close. The kids run from bucket to bucket checking out the day’s catch, so it was pretty exciting for them to have a catch of their own. Then…
Grandpa caught a STARfish!
Later, Daddy caught one too… not very good eatin’ so we threw em back.
Lily let Grandma borrow her pink barbie fishing pole, but all she caught was seaweed. Lots and lots of seaweed. Maybe barbie is a vegetarian.
And then, there was this huge scary pelican who was fishing too.
He was HUGE.
I didn’t want Isaiah to get too close because, I think the pelican could have eaten him.
But sweet Isaiah, he decided to feed him his prize catch, which the pelican swallowed whole.
Later that night…we had jiffy pop, hot cocoa and hot delicious smores by the fire.
Thing of beauty, isnt it? Can’t you almost smell it?
Lily was just plain giddy. She was staying up WAAY past her bedtime…
eating all KINDS of snacks she never had!
Isaiah loves smores!
The next day we had breakfast at Ruby’s on the pier and watched the pros catch fish after fish.
Then we did some crafts and played games at the kids club, went swimming,
tried out the sauna, and ended our day with a sushi dinner at Harney’s.
This is the view from the Sky Lounge of the Wyndham at the top floor. Watching the sunsets from up there were awesome, but I never got a picture! Next year! We had lots of fun just 5 minutes from home!
Wednesday when I picked Isaiah up from school, I was talking to his teacher Ms. Debbie and she said, “Isaiah is just a joy to have in the classroom. He really is! And he’s such a good eater too!”
That’s my boy!
After dropping Isaiah off at school today we got in the car and Lily told me, “I miss my Bubba.” She said it 5 or 6 times until we got home. So sweet.
I had to brag. I couldn’t help myself! I’m so proud of my babies!
After an exciting and extremely busy summer, school has finally started! Isaiah has started pre-k and Lily and I have started a mommy and me class! It’s great because they are both located at El Camino Preschool just minutes from our house! Isaiah is attending MWF, and Lily and I go on MW. Lily and I are really enjoying the mommy and me class! She calls it “my school” and she is all smiles the whole time! Isaiah couldn’t wait to get back into school. He loves his new teacher Ms. Debbie and is making new friends fast! I am anxious for fall weather and happy to get back into our regular routine of consistent bedtimes, etc. There are more pictures of Lily because I was actually with her the whole time, where as I could only “spy” on Isaiah from afar! He’s becoming such a big boy now! He keeps asking me if I’ll be staying in class with him, but as soon as we get there, he’s like “BYE MOMMY!”
