About 2 Deliver

As many of you know, Stephanee wasn't expected to deliver until September 23, 2005 at 9:30 in the morning. Turns out that the kids were born on September 12, 2005 at around 2:30am. How so? One might ask..well for all of you wondering, here's the story.

On 9/11/2005, Steph started out her day without any complication. With an exception of trying to fend off a slight headache, she proceeded to shop at places like Target (or course) and Wal-Mart for baby stuff. This went on for the good first part of the day. Upon arriving home from work, I figured we didn't have much time to do things like eating out before the twins came, so Steph, her sister Ashley, and I decided to go out for dinner. Well..little did we know, and little did Steph know that she was actually in labor for the whole day!!
Her headache started to hit around 9pm. It was a slight one, but enough to alert her to take her blood pressure. To our surprise, her pressure was elevated, and was climbing by the minute. I proceeded to call her doctor. On his advice, Steph, RJ and I sped off to Cedars Sinai Hospital and made a bee line for the emergency room door. They wheeled her up to Labor and Delivery and kept her hooked up to a series of machines to take vitals and assess the situation. Come to think of it, we never did find out why her blood pressure was elevated! What we did find out was that the nurses had called Dr. Lewis Wyatt (Steph's OB) and that he would be there shortly within the next hour or so.... TO DELIVER THE BABY!!!! AHHHH!! Boy was that a moment in time I'll never forget. The twins were ready to come outta the oven, so the good Doc didn't want to risk anymore high-blood pressure instances for Steph.
Almost immediately, I rushed out to tell RJ the good news, and called the rest of the family. We were gonna have the twins! I couldn't have expected the way I was feeling. Excited, overjoyed, and scared at the same time. "Were we ready?" I thought to myself. "You'd better be!" I remember holding her hand really tight and saying "We're gonna be parents!"
Thankfully, Dr. Wyatt did not proceed with the procedure until about 2am on 9/12/05. We wanted to get over the 9/11 hump and of course didn't want to deliver on the 13th. So it had to be the 12th, and God made it so. Little Isaac came into this world at 2:36am and little Bella at 2:38am. As they were born, the song "Don't Worry, Be Happy" played softly in the background. god had truly blessed us.
