A prayer for Isaac

Please say a prayer for my nephew Isaac. He is undergoing some surgery today to correct his pupil-iris alignment in his eye. I am not sure what the correct medical term for this is. But surgery is always scary, especially so on an infant. He is just a few weeks old. Please pray that God watch over him and the doctors caring for him. Pray for a successful surgery. And please pray for Isaac's parents, Derek and Stephanee, for patience, comfort and love. Thank you.

Moonlight Park

Yesterday, Isaiah had his first ride on a playground swing. He loved it, and so did we! I guess we will be spending a lot of time at the park from now on!

Today, Isaiah got his very own, first balloon. He had so much fun with it. Click on "Mind of a New Mom" on your right under blogs, to see a picture of Isaiah and his balloon.

Day 2 of Home Vacation

Started off the morning with a long walk on the beach! It was a beautiful day, crisp air, cool water and warm sand!

Then we had a delicious lunch at the Pacific Coast Grill in Solana Beach. We ordered dessert, and experienced the best bread pudding we've ever tasted! Warm White Chocolate Caramel Bread Pudding. My mouth waters just thinking about it.

We visited the Meditation Gardens in Encinitas. It is so gorgeous there, the gardens are so lush. Isaiah loved looking the the koi. Some of them were HUGE.

We had amazing panoramic views of the ocean.

At last, we were back at our "Hotel de Sanchez" for some playtime and rest! Isaiah loves being home! His new thing is pulling up to standing. Now that he is more moblie he is all over the place! Look at those chunky legs- hamhocks!

Happy Anniversary!

It's hard to believe that it's been 4 years since we were married barefoot on the beach in beautiful Santa Barbara! Happy Anniversary to the man of my dreams! I love you!!!

Happy Birthday Annie!

Birthdays are good for you, the more you have, the longer you live!

God Bless you on your special day!

Happy Retirement Al!

We celebrated Al's retirement this past weekend. After decades of hard work- he is FREE AT LAST! Congratulations Al, we are all so proud of you. You have set an example of hard work and perserverance that we can all strive for. Your loving sacrifices for your family have not gone unnoticed. To say thank you is so small an understatement! Thank you for being such an shining example for your sons. They are men of character and integrity, because of what they have learned from their father.

That being said, there is no time like the present to pursue your dreams! Go forth and conquer the world, your family is behind you all the way!

I believe I ordered the LARGE pancake...

To kick off our "home vacation", we decided to eat breakfast at the world famous Potato Shack in Encinitas. They have the biggest pancakes we've ever seen. We weren't quite sure what the waitress meant when she said, "They're pretty big." They are the size of manhole covers! We ordered the blueberry. You would think something as enormous as this would taste awful and be all starchy inside, but it was actually very good- perfectly fluffy!
"WHOA...is that for me?"

"May I please have 8 sticks of butter? I'm not sure that this one bottle of economy sized syrup will do."

Isaac, Isabella & Isaiah

We drove out to Cedar Sinai in Beverly Hills to see our darling new niece and nephew. They're so precious and sweet, I just love them! They're such beautiful little dolls. What a blessing and a miracle!Isabella is on the left and Isaac is on the right. Isabella looks so much like Stephanee, and Isaac looks EXACTLY like Derek- he even has the same eyebrows!

This is Isabella next to our big butterball! Isaiah looks gihugic next to his lil cousin. The babies are so light, it doesn't even feel like you are holding anything but a rolled up receiving blanket! Especially when you are used to holding Isaiah- who is close to 20 lbs. I can't believe it has been almost 7 months since Dave and I first laid eyes on our little one. It happened so fast.

Everyone is doing well. Please pray for the twins' health and continued weight gain. Isaac needs to gain a few more ounces before they will let him leave the hospital. The staff is taking special care of him, making sure he spends a lot of time in the incubator, and feeding him very often. Otherwise, they are quite healthy preemies.

Pray for New Orleans

Don't forget to keep the people of the Gulf states in your prayers! We are struggling with inflated gas prices, but they have lost everything- including family members and children. It is a hard time for everyone. What they need most right now is God and prayer to comfort them. Donations can also be made to help them with the basic necessities. There are several places that will match your donations- dollar for dollar- Albertson's market will match up to one million dollars. Taylor Woodrow Homes (Dave's work) is also matching donations, dollar for dollar. If you would like to donate through us to have your donation doubled, please email us- and you can donate through paypal. Every little bit counts.

LOST

So, I lost my purse at the zoo yesterday. We think an orangutan ran off with it and is now making long distance calls to China on my cell phone! It is a horrible feeling to be without my ID, credit cards and cell phone. These things that we as a society are all so dependent upon. I've been calling the zoo every few hours or so and describing the purse- "Well- it's black and leather..." like every other purse in America!

There it is! Notice the purse next to my knee. This was where it was last seen. See Janie, the orangutan checking it out? I'm telling you- she wanted my cell phone. She hadn't spoken to her cousin in China for so long! And, I know she wanted my chapstick- those lips get chapped from chewing on all those wood chips!

There we are: Me and Maria & Isaiah and Victor. The two member San Diego mom's club. Oh, and there's an elephant's butt in between our heads. No sign of the purse here.

And the worst part of all... I have to go to the DMV to get a new license! NOOOO! Not the DMV!
