The catch of the day! Fresh rainbow trout. It looks small in the picture. It was really big, I promise. It had to be 4 or 5 lbs, I don't know for sure. But it was big. Ask Dave in a few weeks how big it was and I'm sure it will be 8-10 lbs by then. Of course it was nothing compared to the GIGANTIC one I caught a few years ago.
The Springs. As in what made Pagosa Springs famous. We loved it here, and so did Isaiah. It is amazing, naturally hot pools of mineral water of varying temperatures. Dave and I spent lots of time here just soaking in the therapeutic waters! There is a large warm pond where there are gold fish swimming around. How do they not get cooked? My favorite pool was 110 degrees. Warms you to the bone! Dave liked the 105, said it was just perfect! I dared to go up to 113, but I couldn't stand one degree higher! You feel like you just got a massage after you get out! Isaiah had a great time in the heated swimming pool, and he liked the 99 degree spring. He kept whispering "hot! hot! hot!" The Springs are right up against the river, you can actually get into the freezing cold river! It makes for gorgeous scenery, we watched kayakers practicing on the icy rapids as we sat in the nice toasty springs. A few years ago, Dave and I went white water rafting on the very same river.
Here's a picture of that gorgeous sunset...
more later. I am uploading at dial up speed and it is killing me!
