Proud Americans

Happy Independence Day! Today we were telling Isaiah how blessed he was to be born into this great country. Sometimes it's easy to forget how good we have it until we see other countries, full of corruption, third world poverty, Communism. Seeing these things makes us want to kiss the ground we walk on, hug a soldier of our great military, and just thank God that we are fortunate enough to be citizens of this awesome nation!

These pictures were taken at Viewpoint Park here in Encinitas. We could not have asked for a better day. The weather was perfect, and we had a nice, relaxing holiday. We even took Oscar and Mayer for a (long overdue) walk in the park, and gave them a bath (very long overdue)! We decided not to travel out of our area code for once, and just explore and enjoy our little town.

We saw 4 different fireworks shows from the beach tonight. I am guessing they were the Del Mar, La Jolla, Carlsbad, and Oceanside shows. But the best show of all came from the ocean. The waves were glowing a brilliant neon blue. It was an incredible light

show, unlike anything we've ever seen before! It is called bioluminescence, and it commonly happens during times of the red tide. If you have the chance to see this phenomenon, by all means check it out! It is incredible. There was even a surfer doing a light show in the waves for us! You can even step in the sand and make it glow... it's amazing.

Happy 4th of July!
Marissa
